  9. If you are installing the Paradise Accelerator Card for Windows 3.x drivers
  10. for the first time, you may disregard the installation information below.
  11. Please refer to the user manual for installation instructions.
  12.  
  13. If you have previously installed an earlier version of Paradise Windows 3.x
  14. drivers, you must make some modifications to your Windows setup before
  15. installing the latest version of Windows 3.1 drivers.  Without these
  16. modifications, unexpected results may occur.
  17.  
  18. Follow these steps:
  19.  
  20. 1.  Using Windows Setup either from within Windows or from the DOS prompt,
  21.     select the standard VGA driver for your display.  To do this from Windows,
  22.     first select the Windows Setup icon, and then choose Options.  Next,
  23.     select Change System Settings and then select VGA from the list of options
  24.     for Display.
  25.  
  26.     If you are at the DOS prompt, change your directory to C:\WINDOWS, type
  27.     SETUP and press <ENTER>.  Select the Display choice and then select VGA
  28.     from the list of available options.  Finally, select Accept the
  29.     Configuration.

  31. 2.  If you are not already within Windows, enter the Windows Main screen and
  32.     delete the Paradise icon (if present).  This is done by clicking once on
  33.     the Paradise icon and then selecting Delete from the File Menu.

  35. 3.  Either through the Windows File Manager or from the DOS prompt, delete all
  36.     of the following files that are present.  The files are located in the
  37.     Windows System sub-directory, e.g., C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\

  40.     HVGA1280.DRV
  41.     HVGA640.DRV
  42.     HVGA800.DRV
  43.     HVGA960.DRV
  44.     MMWD480.DRV
  45.     MMWD600.DRV
  46.     MMWD768.DRV
  47.     NMMWD480.DRV
  48.     NMMWD600.DRV
  49.     NMMWD768.DRV
  50.     P32K400.DRV
  51.     P32K480.DRV
  52.     P32K600.DRV
  53.     PVGA600.DRV

  55. 4.  Either through the Windows File Manager or from the DOS prompt, delete all
  56.     of the following files that are present.  The files are located in the
  57.     Windows directory, e.g., C:\WINDOWS\

  59.     WDSETUP.BMP
  60.     WDSETUP.EXE
  61.     WDSETUP.HLP
  62.     WDSETUP.INF

  64. 5.  At this point you are ready to install the Windows 3.x drivers as
  65.     described in the Paradise Accelerator Card for Windows User Manual.
  66.     Please refer to the Software Installation section for complete
  67.     instructions on installing the new drivers.
